Today is a day to pay attention to my thoughts...
Happiness is a state of mind, to keep my mind there takes some work. It is all too easy create in my mind a world where everything is going wrong, disaster lurks around every corner and there are people out there who are against me. Our minds are wired to look for danger in order to keep us safe, however it has trouble recognizing the difference between real danger and stress of a different kind.
When my mind starts to race, and I begin to feel the overwhelm that is time to breath and find at least three things I am grateful for. I can then begin to chant in my mind something like I am safe, I am loved, and abundance is on its way. My mind will then begin to look for evidence of these beliefs.
As I have been putting this into practice, I find it gets easier and quicker to return and calmer and happier state of mind. The shadow side or the subconscious mind will always be there trying to pull me back into a state of panic or doom. The work to stay in a calmer state is ongoing and really doesn’t take as much effort and energy as living the other way. So really the choice of where I live is up to me. What are you going to choose.
