Today is a day to build my resistances to negative thoughts...

Seems a little strange that I wrote this same thing exactly five years ago. It just shows you that like housework inner work never stays done. I have to be constantly sweeping and dusting and every now and then yanking everything out from every corner. Once it all in a pile I can sort it out, “ Oh that’s nice forgot I had it”, “ That will be useful in the days ahead I will put it there where I can get to it easily” , “Why the heck did I keep that it serves no purpose and it is starting to spoil I better toss it quick”.

It would be very easy right now to give into anger, despair and feeling of hopelessness. However, those feeling are just going to take up precious space in heart, mind and soul that I need to save for other things right now. This is the time to look around and see how I can best plan for challenges ahead. What will be the best way to support my life purpose, my family and my community? I can choose to make every effort to be a symbol of stability, resourcefulness and compassion.

The fact that I felt compelled to work on this same area of myself five years ago shows that everything comes in cycles or waves if you will. Sometimes the waves are small and seem quite manageable, but every now we can see that the next one is going to be huge and scary.  We wish we could turn back; we begin to doubt our inner strength and abilities. I believe that all those smaller waves were training for this and I have knowledge, skills and attitude to see me past this one. Let’s all band together and collectively handle this in such a way that when it is behind us and we are safely on solid ground again we can say that wasn’t as bad as we thought it was going to be.
