Today is a day to add some polish to a project to really make it shine.

Today is a day to add some polish to a beautiful old treasure that was previously hidden for many years. It is often tempting to discard the past but there can be value in saving parts of it. I feel that this can be a way to honour the hard work of our ancestors.  The treasure in this particular case is hardwood maple floors. Throughout the painstaking process of rejuvenating these floors I have spent a lot of time thinking about the men that would have installed them, with none of the modern tools we have today. Just like them it has scars, flaws and character and a purpose to serve.
